Specialising in remedial, sports & relaxation massage

Massage therapy is a sacred ritual which encourages your body’s own natural ability to restore normal function to the nervous, circulatory, digestive, lymphatic and musculoskeletal systems. Massage helps to ease fatigue, soothe soreness and release tension. Serenity is yours from the moment you step into our private clinic. Soothing colours and the natural fragrance of essential oils greet you, and almost immediately balance your senses. Surrender to the sounds of the gently playing music as you feel your stress melt away.

Whether you’re 18 or 80, have 2 legs or 4—at Serenity Massage, we can transport you (or your dog) to a relaxed state of bliss.

To assist our elderly clients and people with a disability or injury, we have an electric massage table. By being able to manoeuvre our table up and down, clients are able to get comfortable without a struggle.

Remedial/Deep Tissue Massage:

This deep tissue treatment will reach deep into your muscles, ‘unsticking’ the fibres they contain. This is done by deep muscle compression and putting friction along the grain of the muscle. It is especially good for muscle damage from an injury or overuse. It helps release toxins and breaks patterns of tension, improving mobility and flexibility.

Relaxation Massage:

If your physical or emotional health is challenged, a relaxation massage can help eliminate the production of stress chemicals in the body and stimulate the immune system, whilst promoting a feeling of wellbeing, balance and self nurturing. So if you’re feeling under pressure, wind down with a soothing massage to feel revitalised.

Pregnancy Massage:

Recommended for women past their first trimester, this is a soothing massage to help relieve pressure, tension, aches and pains relating to pregnancy.

Sports Massage:

Ideal for professional or social athletes and dancers, a sports massage can help speed up recovery, prevent injury and help with DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness).

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD):

MLD is a very gentle technique—barely the pressure of a 5 cent piece—which helps to prevent or reduce fluid retention, enhance the removal of toxins from body tissues, and support the immune system. It is effective in decreasing swelling and bruising from surgery, and reducing the appearance of varicose and spider veins, wrinkles, rosacea, acne and cellulite. MLD also soothes and calms the nervous system, which can improve sleep and help reduce depression, anxiety and other effects of stress. This deeply relaxing technique can even help relieve chronic pain from conditions such as fibromyalgia, arthritis and headaches.

Cupping:

This ancient method involves the placement of special cups on the skin, creating a suction to help with blood flow, inflammation, relaxation and other aspects of wellbeing.

Myofascial Release:

Gentle, sustained pressure is applied to points of restriction. This treatment aims to release pain in the tight connective tissue in and around the sore muscle.

Trigger Point Therapy:

Every muscle has a trigger point, which when ‘activated’ by overuse, can cause pain, often affecting other areas of the body. Trigger point therapy is a method used to help relieve related symptoms.

Muscle Energy Technique:

By using muscle contractions, MET helps to relax and lengthen muscles, as well as re-aligning bones and joints through pulling on the muscle.

Dog Massage:

Dogs respond really well to massage and good nutrition. If your beloved canine suffers from arthritis, an uneven stride, mobility issues, has sore/injured limbs and feet, poor neck and shoulder movement, hunched hindquarters, has recently had surgery or has tightening of the skin, fascia or connective tissue, then a therapeutic massage will help promote optimum health and wellbeing to your adored pet. Massage is also good for palliative care and eases joints and movement with our senior dogs.
